How latest technology is growing fast

Smartphone technology
According my estimate, at least 940 million smartphones were purchased worldwide in 2013. In the 30-plus year history of the technology, PCs not at all crossed much beyond 350 million sold in a year.

As amazing as those figures are, the alarm factor of huge smartphone numbers has worn off a bit. Walking around any main city, it takes seconds to mark someone holding one. We have watched in awe for years as smartphone increase exploded, but the emergence of smartphones is no longer a "latest" story.

Up till now, it's important to keep in mind that in 2011, researcher IDC was predicting that the planet wouldn't hit 1 billion smartphones sold until 2015. We approximately hit that number last year in just half the time predicted. That's truly unbelievable.

When you think where smartphone growth is coming from Asia, Africa, et cetera. -- what has actually been underestimated is not only the growth of smartphones, but also the number of lives eternally changed.

These are areas that fewer than a decade ago were targeted by the One Laptop Per Child association, a group that -- with much fanfare -- was trying to solve the mystery of how to provide cheap computers to very poor areas of the world. It was a gracious cause, but as of late 2011, its computers still cost approximately $209 each.

The dilemma was "solved," but not by a charity group. Relentless rivalry in the mobile industry drove prices down away from what anyone could have expected just six years ago.

Smartphones and tablets can be found plentifully worldwide at less than $100. Earlier this month, someone was capable to purchase tablets for $35 and smartphones was starting to push below $20.And how will happen in the future no one can say .
