Diarrhea is a very common health issue, seen frequently especially during summers. Extreme exhaustion due to salt and water loss from the body,is the main reason of discomfort. Diarrhea is caused by infection, food allergies, malabsorption, diabetes and diseases of small and large gut. The following simple measure help to reduce the illness and ensure prompt recovery.
SELF-CARE OF DIARRHEA:
· Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water, before eating and after attending toilet.
· Avoid eating food, fruits, salads & drinks sold openly.
· Always have fresh food.
· Wash fruits and vegetables before cooking and eating.
· Use clean drinking water.
· Increase intake of water & salt like ORS(Oral Rehydration Salt),during illness .
· Take semi-solid soft diet like yoghurt, khitchery, ispaghol husk with yoghurt, porridge, meshed potatoes & banana.
