Lisa Robin Kelly Died from Multiple Drugs, Coroner department Says

“That’70s show, super star troubled actress who played bad girl Laurie Forman on the Fox sitcom “That ’70s Show,” died of various drug intoxication, the Los Angeles County coroner said Friday.

Robin Kelly died at the age 43 in August last year, after entering a rehab facility in an attempt to clean up. Kelly rehab stay was preceded by a history of legal and substance-abuse woes.

Additional details from the coroner’s department were scant, aside from the reality that the fatal intoxication took place by oral eating, and that the way of death was accidental.

The coroner’s department report, which requires further time for transcription, is not up till now available to the public.

Robin’s agent told reporters at the time of the actress’ death that she had been “optimistic and confident” in her final days.

“Lisa had willingly checked herself into a treatment facility early this week where she was fighting the addiction troubles that have plagued her these past few years,” the agent told. “I spoke to Robin on Monday and she was optimistic and confident, looking forward to putting this part of her life behind her. Last night Robin lost the battle.”

Though, her entry into rehab had been preceded by a complex period for Kelly. Replaced on “That ’70s Show” for the series’ sixth season, Robin Kelly had made headlines for troubled actions in the months leading up to her death. Robin Kelly was arrested in November 2012 for supposedly assaulting her husband, and prior that year had been charged with corporal injury of a spouse.

As denying the March assault charges were ultimately dropped the Kelly did tell “Good Morning America” that she had developed a drinking habit after suffering a miscarriage.

“I had lost an infant, and as a result of that, I lost the whole thing, and I was abusing alcohol, which I no longer do,” Kelly, who claimed to be serious for three months at the time of the interview, said. “With

‘That ’70s Show,’ I was guilty of the drinking habit and I ran. And I am not running from this. And I have paid for this. And if I can make it in the course of this, I can make it through anything.”
